Our commitment is to guarantee the quality and the safety of our products to all our customers, which is based on the following critical choices:

To employ only high quality substances, »: in accordance with the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) international standards. All substances, subject to accurate pharmacognostic inspection, are duly certified, including, as appropriate: Certificate of Analysis; International Phyto-Sanitary Certificate; CITES Licence; Certificate of Origin; and High Quality Product Declaration.
To exclude any substance with either acute, sub-acute or chronic toxicity, »: or even suspected toxicity. Lao Dan also excludes any substance of animal origin.
To conduct all our manufacturing processes in Italy, from extraction to packaging, »: in laboratories especially authorized to manufacture dietary products and food supplements, in compliance with the European Community and the NBF (Norme di Buona Fabbricazione; the Italian Good Manufacturing Practices) standards.
To produce traditional and modern formulations »: whose effectiveness has been adequately supported, either by enduring use or by the recent pharmacological data and in accordance with the microbiological and toxicological safety requirements.
To follow the guidelines of the Official Pharmacopoeia »: appropriate to the selected herb materials, which clearly state how to harvest or collect, treat, cut, and dry the plants used to prepare the remedies.
To use only properly dried materials, instead of raw substances, »: because they are more concentrated in active principles and therefore guarantee the correct concentration ratio (Crude Herb/Finished Extract) as codified in the Official Pharmacopoeia.
To produce every classical Chinese recipe by extraction of all the ingredients »: together (joint extraction) in order to guarantee the extractive synergism among the active principles as traditionally attained during herbal decoction. This synergism is a key aspect of the effectiveness of traditional decoctions.
To apply the manufacturing processes best suited for assuring the quality »: of our products. We selected the method of spray drying the liquid extract and then carrying out granulation in order to preserve the wholeness of the active principles, guarantee their homogeneous distribution in the extract, and increase bio-availability.
To conduct evaluation tests throughout the steps of the manufacturing process: »: the methods of high pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) and visible range ultra-violet (UV-Vis) scan generate graphs used to validate the correspondence between the content of the re-hydrated extracts and the original decoctions. These tests are also utilized regularly to verify the stability of the active principles. Further, chemical, physical, and microbiological tests (total bacterial count, pathogens, yeast, and fungus) are carried out to certify the characteristics and the safety of the products.
To guarantee the hygienic procedures and safety management system »: through the phases of manufacture, storage, and distribution of Lao Dan products in compliance with the directives and the guidelines for food products handling and production (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points; HACCP).
To ensure the products’ preservation by using appropriate containers. »: Lao Dan relies on vacuum-packed product that is in tightly sealed and welded containers. To guarantee the quality of the finished products, detailed and regular inspections are carried out at the warehouse, which is expressly authorized to store foodstuff and plant materials.
To provide exhaustive information of the composition of our products, »: accompanied by instructions for their proper preparation and use.
To release copies of all the certifications required »: to demonstrate the quality and traceability of raw materials and finished products for every single production batch.
